Established 25 years ago by a small group of locals, this popular market has grown to become one of Broome’s main attractions and the largest market in the Kimberley region. During the busiest part of the season, you’ll find over 100 stalls packed with fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers, homewares, leather goods, and second-hand books.

Derby CWA Community Market

The CWA Community Market dates all the way back to 1989. Broome resident Mrs Margaret Heseltine was looking for a way to sell produce during winter and when the local council refused her request to establish a weekly market, she decided to set up two stalls on the grounds of the Country Woman's Association. Although much of the focus is still on local produce, there are also food stalls and live entertainment.

The market is held on Clarendon Street in Derby, a two-hour scenic drive from Broome. The season runs from February to December, when the market is open every Saturday from 8 am to 12 pm.
