Day 1 of 3 Night Murray River Discovery Cruise
Board the PS Murray Princess and float down the Murray River, spotting a variety of Australia's flora and fauna along the nation's longest river. Experience the historic town, nature walk, and backwater wildlife trip on your three-night cruise on the Murray River.
Day 1
Begin your journey with a coach transfer to the historic town of Mannum, the birthplace of the Murray River trade and communication. Your cruise will depart Mid-afternoon and head downriver while you enjoy a Welcome Dinner. As we cruise under floodlight to our overnight mooring at Murray Bridge, you might spot nocturnal wildlife on the riverbank. Keep an eye out for kangaroos, hairy-nosed wombats, tortoises, egrets and many other species. Our on-board entertainer provides music for the night owls.

Day 2 Murray River Discovery
After a hearty breakfast, join your local, guided tour and visit the historic town of Murray Bridge. See the town heritage landmarks, including the first bridge that was erected at the Edwards Crossing. Alternatively you may prefer to join the optional Monarto Zoo tour (extra cost), and visit one of the largest open-range zoos in the world. In the afternoon, cruise upriver and moor at Salt Bush Flat.
In 1879 the first bridge to span the Murray River was built at Edwards Crossing, which quickly became the bustling township of Murray Bridge. After a hearty breakfast, choose to explore the town’s historic landmarks and local attractions, such as the Roundhouse, or go on a wildlife tour at Monarto Safari Park (optional extra).
Those who choose to experience Monarto Safari Park will arrive back on board the Murray Princess in time for lunch then join us in the Sturt Dining Room for a special presentation on the bounty of food and wine produced in the Riverland. This afternoon, we continue our journey upriver and tonight we moor at Salt Bush Flat. After dinner, enjoy being entertained by our on-board musician.

Day 3 Murray River Wildlife Cruise
This morning, join a guided nature walk where our guide will share the secrets of the local flora and fauna. It’s a great way to get in a little exercise before the Murray Princess departs and cruises downriver. Near Fromms Landing, we turn and head downriver to River View Lodge (near Piggy Flat / Coolcha) where your discovery vessel awaits for a wildlife tour. Travelling in small, personalised groups, we explore the maze of the river and the birdlife is amazing. Watch for darters, herons and egrets feeding along the river’s muddy edges. The afternoon offers a choice of bocce or fishing challenges before a delicious final night dinner in the Sturt Dining Room.

Disembark & Return to Adelaide
Enjoy breakfast before concluding your cruise at Mannum and return to Adelaide.
Adelaide is bursting with culture, flavours, events and entertainment. Soak-up the sun at one of many picture-perfect metropolitan beaches, visit chic inner-city boutiques, dine at world-famous restaurants. Get a hefty dose of culture at the Art Gallery of South Australia, you could easily spend a whole day lost in the halls, you'll find over 38,00 works and an ever-changing roster of Australian and international exhibitions. Close by is the National Aboriginal Cultural Institute, a visionary and vibrant place to explore and experience contemporary and traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.
