Nourlangie Kakadu
The Nourlangie region reveals the grandeur of the Arnhem Land escarpment and the cultural depth of Kakadu. Here, ancient sandstone ranges rise from floodplains, bringing Dreamtime legends to life. We start the day with a walk to the Nanguluwur Rock Art site, where we might spot the rare black wallaroo, diverse bush birds, and incredible rock art. Later, at Anbangbang Billabong, we’ll search for crocodiles, agile wallabies, and abundant waterbirds. After lunch, we’ll visit the Nourlangie Rock Art site, home to some of Australia’s most iconic Aboriginal paintings, including the legendary Namarrgon, the Lightning Man. Today’s sightings may include Red-tailed Black Cockatoos, Chestnut-quilled Rock Pigeons, Partridge Pigeons, and Estuarine Crocodiles. We’ll return to Jabiru in the evening for dinner.
