Heritage, Culture, and Cuisine in Launceston

Welcome to Launceston! Dating back to 1806, Launnie (as the locals call it) is a blend of heritage buildings and beautiful landscapes with a vibrant foodie scene. Your adventure begins with a welcome meeting at 2 pm. If you arrive in the city early, why not discover one of the many museums on display? After the meeting, head to the Cataract Gorge, where a First Nations guide will deliver a Welcome to Country ceremony and take you on a cultural tour. The landscape will come to life as you sample bush tucker and hear the history of the Tasmanian Aboriginal people. Then it’s back to Launceston for a group dinner where you can get to know your fellow travellers and toast to your upcoming adventures.

Cradle Mountain, Devils and Launceston Dining

Start your day with a drive to Cradle Mountain National Park. Stop at Sheffield to admire its 140+ murals, then visit the Devils @ Cradle sanctuary. Say goodbye to Launceston and drive south, stopping in Campbell Town to explore Tasmania’s colonial history along the Convict Line. Continue to Freycinet National Park, famous for its stunning beaches and crystal-clear waters. Hike up to Cape Tourville Lighthouse for panoramic views, then enjoy local seafood at a marine farm. Later, take a walk to Wineglass Bay, one of the world’s top beaches. Check into Freycinet Lodge for two nights, and enjoy a group dinner at the lodge.

Cruise, Wildlife, and Relaxation at Freycinet

Start your day with a cruise along Freycinet National Park’s coastline, sailing from Coles Bay past Cooks and Bryans beaches under the Hazards range. Spot penguins, shearwaters, and possibly dolphins near Schouten Island, with views of Wineglass Bay. In the afternoon, explore more by hiking Freycinet trails or enjoy the lodge’s spa. End the day with dinner at one of the lodge's restaurants.

Richmond Tour, Wine Tasting, and Hobart Evening

Depart Freycinet and drive to the historic town of Richmond. Wander through the quaint Georgian streetscape and over the iconic sandstone bridge and pay a visit to Old Hobart Town – a model village capturing Hobart as it stood in the 1820s. Before leaving Richmond, be sure to grab some authentic Tasmanian pastries from the bakery. A local winery will host you for lunch and a wine tasting, then you’ll continue to Hobart where you’ll have a free evening. Relax at your accommodation or maybe head out with your group for dinner at one of the city’s popular restaurants.
